SK hynix Delivers Record Revenue and Profits in 2025
South Korean company SK hynix closed its 2025 financial year with historic results, strengthening its position as one of the global leaders in the semiconductor industry. Strong growth, driven mainly by artificial intelligence, pushed the company to record revenue and profits.
Annual revenue reached 97.1 trillion won, equivalent to around 72 billion dollars, while net profit climbed to 42.9 trillion won, or roughly 32 billion dollars.
Strong Financial Results Driven by AI
Operating profit stood at 47.2 trillion won (about 35 billion dollars), with an operating margin of 49%. In the fourth quarter alone, SK hynix recorded revenue of 32.8 trillion won (24 billion dollars) and net profit of 15.2 trillion won (11 billion dollars). These figures clearly exceed those of 2024, showing steady growth and the company’s ability to benefit from the expanding tech market, especially the rise of AI.
The main driver behind these results was strong demand for HBM (High Bandwidth Memory), a key component for artificial intelligence workloads and data centers due to its high speed and bandwidth. SK hynix highlighted its strong position in this segment thanks to innovations that improve performance and efficiency. The NAND memory business was also profitable, despite weaker demand in the first quarter of the year.
SK hynix announced additional dividends of 1 trillion won (around 740 million dollars), bringing total shareholder returns for 2025 to 2.1 trillion won (close to 1.55 billion dollars). This is the highest return to shareholders in the company’s history, which was welcomed by investors.
Looking ahead, SK hynix plans to maintain its leadership by expanding its premium product lineup and meeting the growing demand for AI-related solutions. High-performance memory such as HBM and fast NAND-based storage (SSDs) will be increasingly needed, pointing to a very strong 2026 for the company.
