Someone Found a Way to Play ARC Raiders in First Person

Is it possible to play ARC Raiders in first person? Officially, no — but someone managed to make it happen and even published a short video showing Embark Studios’ extraction shooter from a new camera angle.

A Reddit user reportedly gained access to developer commands and found a way to force the first-person view. Even though the game lacks dedicated animations for this mode, the result seems surprisingly immersive and engaging for players.

Reactions to the video have been mixed. Some players believe that the gameplay works wonderfully from this new perspective, while others think it feels rough and less polished compared to the official third-person setup.

Could Embark Studios Add a First-Person Mode?

This fan experiment could give Embark Studios valuable feedback about potentially introducing an official first-person mode in ARC Raiders. However, the developers would need to carefully evaluate how such a change might affect the game’s overall balance and pacing.

It’s not uncommon for studios to test or consider alternate camera views, especially when community demand grows strong — and this case might push Embark to explore new possibilities in future updates.

Meanwhile, ARC Raiders continues to hold a top position on Steam’s charts. According to some estimates, the game has even tripled its sales compared to the last official figures, surpassing 12 million copies across PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.

At the moment, the developers are also focused on fighting cheaters — an ongoing issue in many online shooters. Hopefully, this effort won’t significantly affect the studio’s resources for updates and new content, which are crucial for keeping a live-service game thriving in the long term.
