Sony Confirms New State of Play Event, Streaming February 12
Sony has officially confirmed recent rumors by announcing a new State of Play scheduled for this week. The event is shaping up to be a large presentation packed with announcements and updates.
The broadcast will take place on Thursday, February 12 at 05:00 PM ET and will be streamed live on PlayStation’s YouTube and Twitch channels. As usual, the event will be covered live, with all trailers, announcements, and game reveals shared as they happen.
More Than One Hour Of Games And Announcements
According to the PlayStation Blog, the show will last over 60 minutes and will feature news, trailers, and updates from teams around the world. This includes third-party publishers, indie developers, and PlayStation Studios.
For now, Sony has not shared many specific details, choosing instead to keep most surprises under wraps. However, the length of the presentation suggests a strong lineup that will not be limited only to PS5-focused content. Many of the games shown are expected to be multiplatform.
What To Expect From PlayStation Studios
When it comes to PlayStation Studios, this State of Play could be the right moment to see Saros by Housemarque again, ahead of its planned release in late April. There is also a chance to hear more about Marvel’s Wolverine from Insomniac Games, which reportedly now has a more defined release window.
Sony may also finally show gameplay for Horizon Hunters Gathering, the new multiplayer project from Guerrilla Games. Additionally, there could be updates or even new reveals tied to long-silent projects such as Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, the upcoming PS5 exclusive from Naughty Dog.
As always, expectations are high, and all eyes will be on Sony to see what surprises this new State of Play will deliver.
