Sony Deletes Thousands of Low-Effort Games from the PlayStation Store
Sony has finally started cleaning up the PlayStation Store by removing more than a thousand low-quality games for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 in one go. The removal affects the entire catalog of a single publisher — ThiGames — known for titles like The Jumping Burrito. This publisher was one of the most active on the platform, though players haven’t lost much beyond a few easy trophies.
Why Sony’s Decision Matters
Most of the removed games were simple reskins — basically the same game reused with small visual or name changes. Examples include The Jumping Pizza and The Jumping Taco, which used identical templates with only minor variations. These titles were likely created in just a few hours and offered little to no gameplay value.
Now, these have been removed from the PlayStation Store in all regions. Checking the UK PlayStation Store confirms that ThiGames titles have disappeared entirely.
Neither Sony nor ThiGames has commented on the removal. Many small publishers use a business model based on releasing large numbers of cheap, low-effort games to flood digital stores. These titles often attract players with the promise of easy Platinum Trophies — rewards that can be earned within minutes.
Currently, the trophies for ThiGames titles still exist on PlayStation’s servers, but the games themselves are no longer available for purchase.
In short, Sony’s cleanup may finally bring some quality control to the PlayStation Store — something fans have been hoping for a long time.
