Sony Earns Over $650 Million from PC Ports

Sony has just announced its financial results for the past year, revealing that the PS5 has surpassed its sales target for 2024. The company also shared updated numbers on its PC sales, marking its full entry into this market.

PC Ports Generate Over $650 Million in Revenue for Sony

According to Sony’s year-end financial report for 2024, PlayStation titles that were ported to other platforms, mostly PC, earned over $650 million in revenue for the brand. Some of the major titles included are Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, LEGO Horizon Adventures, and remastered versions like The Last of Us Part 2 and God of War: Ragnarok.

However, to put this into perspective, these PC ports only generated 3.4% of the total revenue of the PlayStation Store. The digital market brought in $16.5 billion in revenue between PS4 and PS5. By the end of the fiscal year, the PS Store accounted for 50% of the total revenue of PlayStation Gaming. While Sony’s overall performance remains strong, sales on PC are not yet impressive, and even the company’s most famous IPs have not boosted PC sales significantly.

In other news, PlayStation users can finally use Apple Pay to purchase digital games directly on PlayStation 5.
