Sony Introduces a New Monitor for PlayStation 5 with QHD Resolution and DualSense Charging Stand
Sony continues to expand its PlayStation ecosystem with more devices that complement its consoles. Beyond custom controllers, sound systems, and TVs, the company has noticed that many PlayStation 5 users often use gaming monitors.
To meet this demand, Sony has launched its own 27-inch PlayStation monitor, designed to match the PS5’s look and offer accessories tailored for PlayStation 5 owners.
Stylish Design for PlayStation Fans
The first thing that stands out about this monitor is its white color, which follows the same design pattern as the PS5 console. It includes a special stand for DualSense controllers that can charge them while resting on it.
This monitor is also made to work perfectly with the new Sony PlayStation Pulse speakers. The combination of high-quality visuals and immersive surround sound ensures a better gaming experience.
The 27-inch screen offers a QHD resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels on an IPS panel. It supports HDR with automatic tone mapping that adjusts HDR settings automatically when connected to a PlayStation 5 or PlayStation 5 Pro.
The monitor also supports Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) up to 120 Hz on consoles, and up to 240 Hz when connected to a PC.
Connectivity and Availability
For connectivity, the PlayStation monitor includes two HDMI 2.1 ports supporting 2560×1440 resolution at 240Hz, FRL, and VRR. There’s also a DisplayPort 1.4 with 240Hz and DSC support. Users can connect the monitor to a PC or Mac as well.
It also comes with two USB-A ports, one USB-C port, built-in speakers, and a 3.5 mm audio jack. It supports VESA mounting, allowing flexible installation options.
Sony has announced that the monitor will be available in 2026 in the United States and Japan, with more regions expected later.
