Sony’s forthcoming mid-range smartphone, the Xperia E4, will have a 2,300mAh battery that can handle up to 48 hours of active use. The Xperia E4, due to go on sale later this month, could even run for longer, using its STAMINA and Ultra STAMINA power-saving modes.
“With Xperia E4, we wanted to offer people some of the premium Sony features they have come to expect — with unparalleled ease of use — at a highly competitive price point,” Tony McNulty, Vice President of Sony Mobile’s Value Category Business Management, said. “With a simple setup, great screen and unrivaled two-day battery life, we’ve created an on-the-go entertainment device that will keep on going, wherever you are.”
The 5-inch Xperia E4 has a MediaTek MT6582 1.3GHz quadcore processor, a RAM 1GB, and 8GB built-in storage. The handset also features a rear 5MP camera with full HD video capabilities, a 2MP front camera, and a microSD slot. It will run Android 4.4.4 KitKat, but no news on whether it will have an Android 5.0 Lollipop upgrade.
The smartphone will not be available in the US, and is rumoured to be priced at around £100.
