Sony have been on a winning streak with the PlayStation 4, but all good things must come to an end. Their combo has been shattered by their recently released PlayStation 4 2.0 firmware update, which has been causing a range of issues for users around the world.
The newly dubbed “rest mode” has been putting the PlayStation 4 into a deep sleep, unfortunately it’s so deep that people haven’t been able to wake their consoles! The only fix is to remove the power cable, hard reboot and go through the system file checker when you boot. While this does seem to work OK, there is a risk of data loss on the hard drives.
The new Share Play feature has been added, only for people to discover a massive security flaw. When you give someone remote access to your game, they can delete the console’s host’s files and screw up your console, great!
It took days for Sony to acknowledge the problems, leaving many gamers to find out the hard way. If you have the option to update your console, for the love of god DON’T. Please wait for an update to be released by Sony.
