The X2 features a small cut-out for mounting CPU coolers, three fairly basic cable routing cut-outs an a plastic divider that sits just above your expansion slots.
In the back we can see that the rear fan mount in on a 1cm recess, providing just a little extra clearance within the chassis (again, there really should be a 120mm blue LED fan pre-installed here). One of the coolest features on the X2 however is the expansion slot clips, which features a slide and click mechanism that I’ve never seen before, it’s always good to see a company try to do something different.
The front of the chassis features a full selection of quick release clips for each of the 5.25″ and 3.5″ drive bays which are all “slide-in” mounts.
In the bottom of the chassis we have a basic dust filter, although I can’t help but wonder that this should have been mounted under the chassis, as your PSU will need to be removed to clean it, I suppose the silver lining is that at least it does have some kind of filter.
In the top we have a better look at the fan mounts, there is a decent amount of clearance there for just about any 120mm fans on the market, but I’m going to be brave and try fit my H100i in there. Here you can also see the plastic divider, which personally I don’t like and while it may serve a few purposes in channeling air, I’ll be removing it for our build section.
Around the back we have a second set of quick release clips for the 5.25″ and 3.5″ drive bays, but best of all a screw on cover for the main cable routing section. It’s a great way of keeping your major cables shielded, but it’s not very accommodating and may get a little crowded if you’re installing lots of components and cables. There is effectively little or no cable management space behind the motherboard, little more than space to get a fan cable if I’m honest, however there is a nice recess behind the HDD bays that should be sufficient.
