Split Fiction Surpasses All EA Games on Steam Except Apex Legends
According to numbers reported by SteamDB, Split Fiction has surpassed all EA games on Steam, with the exception of Apex Legends. This is an impressive result for the cooperative adventure directed by Josef Fares.
Specifically, Split Fiction reached over 259,000 concurrent players at its peak on the Valve digital platform, while the battle royale developed by Respawn Entertainment broke through 624,000 players at its highest point of success.
However, the other Electronic Arts games have seen much lower numbers: the popular EA Sports FC 25 reached just over 110,000 players at its peak, and slightly better results were seen with Battlefield V, which hit 116,000 players.
Better than It Takes Two?
Considering that It Takes Two only reached 71,000 peak players on Steam but has sold 23 million copies worldwide, it is clear that the numbers for Split Fiction are very promising.
Critics have also been extremely enthusiastic about Split Fiction, with reviews contributing to its highest average score of 2025, making it EA’s best-rated game in 13 years. This reflects the great quality of the game, which seems to have won over everyone.
The two protagonists of the adventure, Mio and Zoe, are thrown into sci-fi and fantasy worlds they themselves have created, sparking a variety of different situations as they seek a way back to reality.
