Sony announced today that music streaming service Spotify is coming to PlayStation. The service will be made available for both PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4, with Spotify becoming exclusive partner for Sony’s PlayStation Music platform, replacing Music Unlimited.

Music Unlimited will cease on 29th March, but existing subscribers up to 28th February will receive the final month for free. After that, anyone with a Spotify Premium subscription (£9.99/$4.99 per month) or a free account (still ad-supported) can access PlayStation Music. The service will allow users to stream music while playing PlayStation games.

No launch date for PlayStation Music has been announced, but it is likely to follow straight after the closure of Music Unlimited at the end of March.
