Square Enix has Removed Denuvo from Final Fantasy XVI

Gamers, it’s time to rejoice, as Square Enix has finally decided to remove Denuvo from Final Fantasy XVI! Square Enix has just released a new update for Final Fantasy XVI, and in the update, it completely removes Denuvo anti-tamper tech.
Although Final Fantasy XVI was released to universal praise and quickly became a fan favorite, the most significant issue for many players was the game’s poor performance, which seemed to affect everyone regardless of their hardware configurations. I played it myself, and it did suffer from the dreaded stutter, so hopefully this will resolve itself.
Final Fantasy XVI
Although Devuvo has now been removed, I don’t think that this will bring any more players to the game as anyone who wanted to play it would have already, despite the game’s poor performance. It’s also worth mentioning that although the game did have some terrible performance issues, these were nowhere near as bad as other titles that have included Denuvo before.
It’s also not a big surprise that Denuvo is now being removed from Final Fantasy XVI, as the game is now quite past its launch, being nearly 6 months old at this point. This also follows a bigger trend of Square Enix removing Denuco from a lot of their titles.
Where to Buy
If you are thinking of picking up a copy of Final Fantasy XVI now, Denuvo has gone, and the biggest issues have been ironed out since its launch. You can find the game here on Steam. I’m not saying it’ll likely be on some other sites following this update, but like, ya know what I mean.
