Today, GSC GameWorld has released the latest patch for STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl that comes with so many bug fixes and changes to the game, including balance changes, camera issues, and character AI. From just a glance, it looks like a pretty good update, although not the biggest, it does tackle some annoying issues that have persisted.
Main Changes in 1.4.2
Multiple in-game glitches have been resolved. Gamepad camera sensitivity at low framerates is improved, and mutants no longer shake erratically when investigating threats. A significant inventory bug where consumable items are duplicated in quick slots has been fixed. Several mission-specific issues were also addressed: the radio call with Strelok and subsequent objective in “Dangerous Liaisons” will now trigger correctly, Scar no longer gets stuck in an animation after defeat in “The Last Step”, Sanya Ocheret won’t start combat with his own squad in “Boundary”, and locked doors in “Once More Unto The Breach” are now accessible.

- Balance changes: lowered armour piercing multiplier for 9×18 ammo.
- Fixed an issue where camera movement sensitivity was too low on low framerate when using gamepads as input devices.
- Fixed an issue where mutants were shaking and twitching erratically when investigating a threat.
- Fixed an issue where consumable items were duplicated in quick slots and appeared as available, despite not being present in the Player’s inventory.
- Fixed an issue where the radio call with Strelok was not triggered, and the next objective didn’t trigger if the Player hadn’t killed all Wardens at the TCS location during the Dangerous Liaisons mission.
- Fixed an issue where Scar could get stuck playing a confused animation after killing him during the boss fight in The Last Step mission.
- Fixed an issue where Sanya Ocheret could start a combat with stalkers in his squad during the Boundary mission.
- Fixed an issue where doors to Duga’s underground tunnel and Location D could be locked on user saves during the Once More Unto The Breach mission.
