Starfield Update FINALLY Gives a Modern Bethesda game FOV Sliders

I feel like checking my temperature to see if I’m having some kind of fever dream. Bethesda has done something that’s pretty much too good to be true… FOV sliders. No big deal right, FOV sliders are just such a common and simple god damn thing to have in a game right? Well, you would think so, but Bethesda has somehow been unable to add this to even their older Fallout games, despite heavy requests from gamers. Until now, Starfield included, it’s been on the modding scene to adjust FOV, as it requires tinkering with the .ini files to make changes or a third-party tool.

The update released today takes the game to version 1.7.36 and clocks in at around 2.6GB. It adds the FOV (Field of View) slider, with separate sliders for first and first person, allowing for a range of 70 to 110 degrees.

Arc GPU owners, all four of you, rejoice as a plethora of issues have been fixed that may allow you to play the game now.

There’s a load of behind-the-scenes stuff too that isn’t in the official changelog, but there have been lots of dev updates to the Steam database covering quest fixes, performance tweaks, and some UI improvements so that it’s now fully certified for controller support on Steam.
