I’m honestly shocked these are on Amazon for just £138.95. Make no mistake, I know that’s a lot of money, but it’s half, HALF! The price of their model from last year. There are differences, of course, but for a premium wireless headset like this, they’re worth every penny. In the US, the headset is $149.99 on sale at $124.99.
Why would any one pay twice as much for the Arctis Pro Wireless over the Arctis 7 Wireless? Well, the Pro offer a powerful desktop DAC system, with an OLED display and control setup. It also offers Hi-Res audio support with a 10-40000Hz response vs the 20-20000 response of the Arctis 7, dual battery system with hot swapping and a charging bay in the DAC too. Those are pretty freaking epic features, but not inherently essential to most PC gamers.
At half the price, the Arctis 7 looks just as good as its big brother, and while not Hi-Res capable, it’s still one of the finest sounding headsets on the market today. It may be half the price of the Pro, but it sounds far more than half as good.
Unless you looked at this review with the images removed, you can see it’s a quality product. Furthermore, it looks even better in real life, with its matte finishes, and durable metal fittings. It feels pretty fantastic too, like you could throw it around a few times, and I doubt it would cause much harm to it. Overall, it’s lightweight, durable, and endlessly stylish, so no complaints here.
A good headset should excel at everything. Music lovers should be happy, movie fans blown away, and gamers well aware of the enemies creeping up behind them. The Arctis 7 ticks all the right boxes, and for any daily PC related task, it’s a joy to use. If you love great audio, you’ll love this, and it’s as simple as that.
For around £100 to £150 you can get the Logitech G935, which is rather bulky. Or, what about the HyperX Cloud which is actually pretty good, but looks a bit “gamer” for my taste. How about the Sennheiser PC 360, which looks like it was styled in the 90’s, the Razer Thresher which doesn’t sound as good. There’s the Corsair Void Pro, which is actually rather great, but looks a bit childish in comparison. Overall, the more I shop around, the more I see how the Arctis 7 just looks a cut above the competition. No RGB, no fuss, great build quality, flawless wireless performance, huge battery life, and fantastic sound quality. If you want a well rounded wireless headset, it seems it’s currently the best option for this price.
