Steelseries Rival 710 Gaming Mouse Review

How Much Does it Cost?

The Steelseries Rival 710 Gaming Mouse is available now. It’s not cheap though, clocking in at £98.37 on Amazon right now. In the US it’s $99.99. However, you can get a discount by becoming a Steelseries Member on their official website, which is a great way to say around £20.

Overview

The £100 price tag may seem a lot, but honestly, I think that’s quite cheap for what you get. I can go spend North of that on a few mice, and I can’t say any of them would outperform this lovely sensor. I’d even put this confidently alongside the flagship Logitech G900, that’s how good it is.

Added Value

This mouse is packing the high-performance hardware one would want for an eSports tournament. It’s a rock-solid performer that’s already winning in the professional gaming world. However, the addition of the tactile feedback, the RGB lighting, the OLED display, modular cables, while they could help pros, they feel more appealing to me as an at-home gamer. They give the mouse some X-factor that makes it more fun to use, and that’s just fine with me. They’re not “needed” features, but they all work really well, so you’ll get no complaints.

Custom

The easy to use software is welcoming enough for first-time PC gamers, but has plenty of advanced features to please the pros. Of course, with on-board memory, you only have to dial the settings in once and save them to the mouse, making it tournament rules compliant. Of course, being able to disable angle-snapping and tweak acceleration will keep the pros happy too, but also any serious gamer for that matter. Set your RGB, set your OLED display, button configurations, etc, save them to any of the profiles, and you’re ready to rock.

Should I Buy One?

I’ll admit, this price is a bit above what most people really need to spend for a gaming mouse. However, I think Steelseries has gone above and beyond, and for those that want something truly special and feature packed, it’s hard to beat. Plus, if you get it directly from Steelseries, you can make quite a saving on the retail price. Overall, it’s one of the finest gaming mice on the market today, and one of the coolest too.
