Packaging and Bundle
The packaging is fairly simple for this mouse mat. Its main aim is to show off as much of the mat itself as possible, which is of course what the end-user actually wants to see. With most products we would normally have some form of box, but in this case it is more of a sleeve which fits around 3 sides of the mouse mat. There is of course no cover going across the middle section and so you see straight to the inner packaging.

The box is made of quite a thin cardboard, which unfortunately due to the design means the outer packaging is fairly flimsy and is liable to fall apart.

The inner packaging slides out of the mouse mat as there is a flap that locks into it from the outer packaging. This means it can only slide one way and won’t fall out of the sleeve. Instead it means you have to open up the other side of the sleeve and slide it out through that way. The inner packaging is just a plastic tray-like cover, which is hinged on one side. This is completely transparent and gives the rigidity to the product. Bearing in mind we expect the mouse mat to be fairly flimsy, it needs to be tightly and securely held in place. The back of this shows you the ridges which give the support and also the locking hole to stop the product sliding out.

Opening this plastic tray up – all the sides are bent over and the bottom pushes into the top – gives access to the mouse. There is also a piece of black card at the back to make it look nicer from the reverse of the packaging.
