Stellar Blade Could Also Arrive on Xbox Series X|S or Nintendo Switch 2
There is renewed talk about the possibility that Stellar Blade may also arrive on Xbox Series X|S and the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2, as the development team Shift Up continues to drop hints on the subject — this time through the company’s recently released financial documents.
“To further enhance brand recognition and boost sales, we plan to carry out various promotional activities and are considering additional platform expansions to make Stellar Blade accessible to more players,” the report reads from Shift Up’s recent financial conference.
What leads many to believe that the game might launch on other consoles is the mention of “additional platform expansions” and the goal of making the game “accessible to more players,” which seems to reinforce the intention to bring Stellar Blade to new platforms.
Expanding the Audience Even Further
A statement like this was already seen in the past when the team was working on bringing the game to PC, but now that the title has long been available on that platform, this new “platform expansion” appears to suggest other possibilities.
The idea that Stellar Blade could reach other consoles makes sense: while the game was published by Sony, the intellectual property still belongs to Shift Up, which could decide to release it elsewhere as well.
PlayStation itself has been going through a period of greater openness compared to its traditionally closed ecosystem. Therefore, it’s not impossible that Sony might allow the game to be released on competing platforms.
In other news, an investigation by PC Gamer revealed that over 40% of the mods released for the PC version of Stellar Blade contain erotic or pornographic content.
