Street Fighter 6 on Switch 2 Appears to Be Using NVIDIA DLSS With Remarkable Graphics Quality
The discussion around whether the new Nintendo Switch 2 will feature NVIDIA DLSS (Deep Learning Super Sampling) in its games is evolving quickly. Recently, it has been revealed that Street Fighter 6 may use this technology on the new console, and it looks like it brings impressive graphical quality.
This information comes from Digital Foundry, a site known for its detailed technical analysis. Just a few days ago, Digital Foundry reported that no traces of DLSS were found in the first games shown for the Nintendo Switch 2. However, it seems this statement has now been corrected in at least two cases.
One of the first examples is Cyberpunk 2077, where the developers at CD Projekt RED confirmed the use of NVIDIA DLSS in the Nintendo Switch version. Now, Street Fighter 6 is also reportedly using this technology.
Dynamic Resolution
A recent update from Digital Foundry about Nintendo Switch 2 games challenges earlier reports. It says that they’ve found evidence of DLSS being used in Street Fighter 6, which is expected to be one of the big third-party launch titles for the new console.
“While our initial pixel counts of Street Fighter 6 during the Switch 2 Nintendo Direct reveal pointed to a native 1080p based on limited footage, the more recent Nintendo Treehouse feed shows a scale from a native 960×540 to a 1080p target using an AI upscaling method,” Digital Foundry reported.
This suggests that NVIDIA DLSS is being used in Street Fighter 6, just like in Cyberpunk 2077, which strengthens the idea that NVIDIA’s upscale technology is well-integrated into the console.
Digital Foundry also pointed out that the final visual result of Street Fighter 6 on the Nintendo Switch 2 is very clean and looks great in most frames. The quality is impressive, even when compared to the Xbox Series S version of the game.
