Super Mario Run For Android Arriving This Month

Super Mario Run For Android

Back in December, Super Mario Run was released for iOS, and it left a bitter taste in the mouths of the Android master race. However, Super Mario Run for Android will finally be arriving this month, with a scheduled date of March 23rd.

We can forgive Nintendo for only having the original release on i0S, they’ve acted as product testers with the added bonus that they paid to test and prime it for Android. Upon release, Android users will have version 2.0 of the game, whilst i0S users will have to update their games to the same version. One can only hope they’ve ironed out any bugs and took the feedback on board.

Super Mario Run had a mixed reception, with many people complaining about the high cost of the game, especially considering its somewhat overly basic controls, that meaning all you really have to do is tap your screen, and that’s about it.

It will be interesting to see if they drop the always online requirement and if the same data usage complaints are carried over to Android. Nintendo has stated that this new version of the game coming to Android will feature new playable characters.

Currently, extra characters are unlocked by completing various tasks, it is safe to assume that the new characters won’t just be given out, they’ll need to be unlocked. We’ll know more once the game is released.

There is also the Kingdom Builder, and whilst there is no news on any extra additions to this part of the game, they may add more things for you to customise your kingdom with.

Nintendo took a gamble with Super Mario Run, and whilst the game has plenty of critics, it has sold well, with almost 80 million downloads just on iOS. Once the money from Android sales starts to flow, I don’t think it will be long before we see a new mobile game from Nintendo.

Do you have Super Mario Run? Is it a game you’ve forgotten about or do you still play it?
