Surface Pro 12 and Surface Laptop 8 Leak with New Intel Panther Lake CPUs
Microsoft is preparing to update its Surface laptop lineup. According to recent leaks, the next generation — Surface Pro 12 and Surface Laptop 8 — will use the new Intel Panther Lake processors.
This move is mainly focused on business users and aims to make the Surface line stronger as a high-performance tool. Based on Geekbench listings, the Surface Pro 12 will use Intel Core Ultra 5 325 and 335 processors. These chips have eight cores and are designed to balance power and efficiency. The device is also expected to support up to 32 GB of RAM.

The Surface Laptop 8, instead, is aiming higher in the traditional laptop segment with a 13-inch display. Performance tests show it may use the Intel Core Ultra X7 368H processor, along with Intel Arc B390 integrated graphics. This should bring a clear improvement in graphics compared to previous models, making it more competitive with high-performance laptops. It is also expected to include up to 32 GB of LPDDR5-8532 RAM.
With this strategy, Microsoft seems to be splitting the Surface lineup: Intel-based models will focus more on performance and business use, while devices with Snapdragon X chips will be aimed at regular users who prefer better battery life and portability.
Microsoft has not officially announced these devices yet, but they are expected to launch around mid-May. With these updates, the company wants to meet market demands by combining its well-known design with newer and more powerful hardware.
