Take-Two’s CEO Confident in the Success of Nintendo Switch 2
One of the exciting news from the recent Nintendo Direct is the massive third-party support for the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2. This marks a big improvement compared to the original Nintendo Switch, which didn’t receive much support at first due to the lack of trust caused by the failure of Wii U.
Take-Two’s Strong Support for Nintendo Switch 2
Strauss Zelnick, the CEO of Take-Two, spoke with The Game Business and explained that his company is fully backing the new console because they truly believe in its success. According to him, the future of Nintendo Switch 2 looks very promising, which could lead to great business opportunities.
“We feel really good about it. But it always remains to be seen. We’re offering more on launch support than ever before for a Nintendo platform. We’ve announced four titles for Switch 2. It remains to be seen how it does, but I am a big believer,” Zelnick said.
Zelnick also talked about how Nintendo has historically done a better job with first-party games, but he believes that the company is now trying to change that trend. Take-Two has accepted the challenge and sees this as a great opportunity.
“We voted with our feet. Nintendo has asked us to be supportive, and we do believe we’re doing that. Now we will see what happens.,” he added.
The launch of the Nintendo Switch 2 is just around the corner, set for June 5, 2025.
