Tenda W568R Wireless N900 Gigabit Router Review

Final Thoughts

Pricing

I could not find the Tenda W568R Wireless N900 Concurrent Dual-band Router available in the USA at the time of writing this review, but you can find it in both the UK and Germany. British readers will have to pay £56.87 on Amazon while German readers can find a deal starting at €64.90 through Geizhals.

Conclusion

The Tenda W568R is a router that looks a little bit different from most routers do. It’s a stand-up router with a triangular shape and no external antennas. One should think that the use of internal antennas would result in a low performance and coverage, but that wasn’t what we saw in our tests.

The wireless performance isn’t groundbreaking, but that’s a given considering the standards that it supports. The coverage, on the other hand, was great and it didn’t show much performance drop due to increased distance. The wired performance was great and that is what most people will use for critical transfers anyway.

The interface isn’t the freshest, but you’ll find anything you’re looking for from security to features. It’s simple, but it works. The ability to support IPTV is great and an absolute must for those that have such a service and need, but it will cost you the first LAN port as that doubles for this feature. USB file and printer sharing is also present, but only through a USB 2.0 port. This is perfect for charging and temporary storage as well as using that old USB printer on the network instead.

Pros

  • Great wired performance
  • Great range
  • Easy to use
  • IPTV support
  • WPS

Cons

  • Only IEEE802.1a on the 5GHz band.
  • Only USB 2.0

“The Tenda W568R doesn’t break any records, but it does what it does very well and it’s a router that you safely can choose.”

Thank you Tenda for providing us with this review sample

    1. difficult to say. Could be another hardware revision, other software versions, or even the browser not showing something it should. Without more info, I couldn’t say
