Tesoro Thyrsus Laser MMO Gaming Mouse Review

A Closer Look

The mouse comes hard-wired with a nice quality black braided cable and a gold-plated USB cable. It is plug and play ready, but if you want to tap into all the features, you’ll need to download the software to configure them.

The mouse looks pretty cool, with a nice fat and wide design that is going to provide a solid palm-rest grip, but there are some nice curves to the front that make it just as nimble if you like to switch up to a fingertip grip from time to time.

A key feature for any competent MMO mouse is a huge number of programmable buttons, and with six easily accessible and ergonomically shaped buttons on the side, the Thyrsus has got you covered.

The side sections of the mouse are finished with a glossy black, but you’ll find a hard-wearing rubber coating on the top panel that gives you improved grip and comfort for those long gaming sessions.

Both mouse buttons are mounted on their own spring and panel, ensuring you get accurate feedback and response from each, and there’s also an extra programmable button behind them and the scroll wheel, set back so not to interfere with either the LMB or RMB operation.

The scroll wheel is pretty big and has a nice rubber grip coating. It’s got a nice weight to it and turns easily with a soft tactile bump that makes it accurate and quick to scroll through your weapons mid-game, while also having an extra switch when pressed down.

The mouse has quite a fat shape to it, with a sweep off to the right, and some pop out edges to ensure you get a good resting position for your full hand.

The back shape looks quite unique and aggressive, but it manages to fit in my large and wide hands with ease, fantastic ergonomics and a unique look all in one.

On the base, four slipmats give the Thyrsus good glide, helped by the fairly lightweight design and the surprisingly balanced feel of it.
