The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered Debuts on Steam, But Falls Short of Top Spot
The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered has made its debut in the Steam ranking, coming in at fifth place. If we only consider games and not Steam Deck sales, it is actually fourth. This debut for the remastered version of the highly acclaimed game by Naughty Dog can be seen as a decent start.
The current top 10 on Steam is as follows:
- Schedule I
- R.E.P.O.
- Steam Deck
- inZOI
- The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered
- Monster Hunter Wilds
- Call of Duty
- Dead by Daylight
- Split Fiction
- Path of Exile 2
Looking at the top 10, a few things stand out. The top three positions are held by the hottest games right now: Schedule I, R.E.P.O., and inZOI. Another point worth noting is that Assassin’s Creed Shadows has already fallen down the rankings after a strong start and is now in 14th place.
Also, it’s important to mention the dramatic drop of Atomfall, the post-apocalyptic survival game developed by Rebellion. Just last week it was in 9th place, but now it has dropped all the way to 56th on Steam.
PlayStation Games on Steam
As we know, The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered saw fewer players on PC compared to The Last of Us Part 1 at launch. It has performed okay, but not great, especially when compared to other PlayStation titles on Steam. These PlayStation games have generally done well, but not as amazingly as expected.
Sony’s cross-platform strategy remains strong because these are relatively low-cost conversions, which means they will still bring in solid profits, even if the numbers are not overwhelming. However, it remains unclear why such big titles are not receiving a bigger reception on Windows.
