The New Tomb Raider Will Be Announced at The Game Awards 2025
After years of waiting, Lara Croft’s next adventure is finally about to be revealed. The new Tomb Raider will be officially announced during The Game Awards 2025.
The confirmation comes from the official X (formerly Twitter) account of the event, which posted an image showing the famous explorer’s silhouette holding her iconic pistols. It’s a small teaser ahead of the show, scheduled for the night between December 11 and 12.
Official Details and Early Rumors
Work on a new Tomb Raider game was first announced back in 2022 by Crystal Dynamics, who confirmed that the project would be developed in Unreal Engine 5 and published by Amazon Games.
This marks the first brand-new chapter since Shadow of the Tomb Raider in 2018 and promises to bring Lara Croft back with an adventure full of exploration, challenging puzzles, and a wide range of enemies.
What to Expect from Lara’s New Adventure
Several rumors have kept fans guessing about what’s to come. According to one, the new Lara will be more complex and believable than in the previous trilogy. The story is said to revolve around ancient ruins in India linked to Emperor Ashoka, whose relics are believed to hold immense power.
The campaign will reportedly take players through a variety of environments — from sandy deserts and snowy peaks to dense jungles and steep cliffs — offering a rich mix of exploration and discovery.
