Thermal Grizzly Launches New Water Blocks With Support for Intel’s Future LGA1954 Socket
Thermal Grizzly has once again caught the attention of the community with the launch of its new series of custom liquid cooling blocks, the Mycro Pro Stainless Steel.
The big new feature of this line is that the version designed for Intel includes support for the future LGA1954 socket, the format expected to be used by the future Nova Lake-S generation of desktop processors. This practically gives us an unofficial confirmation that these processors will eventually reach the market.
Besides supporting a socket that is not yet on the market, the same Intel block keeps full support for current and recent platforms, with compatibility for the LGA1700 and LGA1851 sockets. This allows users to install an advanced cooling system in their current setups while knowing that they will be able to move to future CPUs without having to replace the block.

As for its construction, despite having the words Stainless Steel in its name, the base that comes into contact with the processor is made from pure copper without nickel plating. The company explains that leaving out the nickel coating helps reduce production costs and may even provide a small improvement in heat transfer, although exposed copper tends to naturally darken over time due to oxidation.
Stainless steel is used for the housing, while the mounting structure is made from anodized aluminum.
Inside, the Intel model has an array of 70 microfins that are 0.2 mm thick, with channels of the same size, optimized for coolant flow.
At the same time, the company also launched a version designed for AMD that supports the AM4 and AM5 sockets. This model changes the internal structure to 68 microfins.
Both models must be installed on the processor’s integrated heat spreader (IHS) and are not suitable for direct-die setups, so keep this in mind. They are already available for around $116.88 each.
