Thermaltake Core P6 Turquoise Edition Case Review

How Much Does it Cost?

The size and weight of this case are a strong indicator that it was going to be fairly expensive. The raw materials here are simply going to cost more than most cases. Plus, you’ll pay a small premium for the unique colour options too, but again, that was to be expected. The stock Thermaltake Core P6 is available now for £189.98 at Scan.co.uk. The price goes up for the P6 White version, which is £199.99. However, if you want the Thermaltake Core P6 Green or the P6 Turquoise, they’re £234.98. You can check for up-to-date stock and prices here.

Overview

Thermaltake really does run at their own speed, and that’s gained them as many fans as it cost them over the years. Personally, I like a lot of what they do, even if little of it really fits my own personal needs. While Thermaltake makes some perfectly sensible mid-tower PC gaming cases, the P6 really is aimed at a much smaller part of the market, so it’s not surprising that it may be a bit much for many of you.

For starters, the size and weight of this case are pretty extreme. Sure, it’s an ATX mid-tower, but it’s bigger and heavier than many Super-Tower cases. If you add a liquid-cooled system inside this, the total weight would be truly appalling and not something you’ll be taking to your next LAN event without a hydraulic lift trolly. Lord only knows how strong your walls need to be to wall mount this freaking monster, but I have seen it done on more than one occasion.

The price is also quite high, and over £230 for a PC case that doesn’t come with any fans, RGB, or hubs may seem a bit bonkers in this day and age. However, it’s designed for the high-end modding market, and really anything that comes with this would just be unbolted and tossed to one side. The price is still high though, as you’re getting a lot of steel and glass here, and that stuff doesn’t come cheap in such large quantities.

Thermaltake has had cases that look similar to this for many years now, and this is just the latest evolution of that concept. The layout is great, with room for a lot of high-end hardware and cooling options. For modders, you’ll be able to show off your sweet tubing work, perfectly routed braided cables, and more from virtually any angle. You can lay this case horizontally, albeit, it takes up a hell of a lot of space. I like the vertical configuration with all the glass in place, but as someone who tinkers with their hardware a lot, and uses a lot of open-air test benches, I can appreciate that it can do those things too.

The Thermaltake Cope P6 is one of the most visually striking cases I’ve seen in years. It’s a great evolution of one of Thermaltake’s more unique PC case concepts, and while it may be a bit big, heavy and expensive for many, I’m sure there are enough PC building enthusiasts out there who can’t wait to get started with one of these!
