Thermaltake CTE T500 Air Black Case Review

Thermaltake has been on a roll recently, creating many of the best-made and best-performing, feature-packed PC cases on the market. Not only that, but they’re also coming in at some of the most competitive prices. Let’s take a look at the new CTE series, which features their new airflow design, where you have fans in the front, fans in the back, and fans in the bottom and even on the side bringing in cool air. The motherboard installation is rotated 90 degrees and vents upwards out of the top of the case, giving all your components the potential to run cooler than ever. However, despite being big, supporting the latest and greatest hardware, and its unique internal design, the massive Thermaltake CTE T500 Air costs just £129.98, which certainly grabbed my attention, as that’s the same as the Corsair 5000D mid-tower, but this is a full-tower for the same money!

  • E-ATX Full-Tower
  • 360/420mm Radiator Support
  • Three CT140mm Fans Pre-Installed
  • Removable Filters
  • Pump and Reservoir Bracket
  • 195mm CPU Cooler
  • 180mm PSU
  • 385mm GPU
  • Available in Black or in White (Snow), and ARGB

What Thermaltake Had to Say

The CTE Form Factor design, which stands for Centralized Thermal Efficiency, utilizes a 90-degree rotation of the motherboard to create more efficient airflow pathways to the critical heat sources. This design allows the CPU and graphics card to be moved much closer towards cool air generated from the front panel and the rear panel respectively including independent airflow paths. Additionally, the cold air intake from multiple directions and the hot air exhausts at the top side provide optimal airflow for overall cooling. Furthermore, three CT140 ARGB fans pre-installed in the CTE T500 TG ARGB and three CT140 fans pre-installed in the CTE T500 Air are Thermaltake’s new generation of PWM fans with a speed of 1500RPM and made with specially tuned fan blades that can push the air further.
