The industry pioneer Thermaltake has just announced a new series of Power Supply Units for the more mainstream market; the SMART Series PSU.
The PSUs in the SMART Series incorporate various high-tech components, leading technology and Eco-friendly standards to create a value series. The first PSU currently offered range from 430W to 730W and can be found in modular and non-modular to fulfill the need of any mainstream users.
Between modular and non-modular, few differences can be found, they are all built with a robust and dedicated single 12V rail, industrial-grade protection circuit, high quality of Japanese made capacitors and active PFC that guarantees the delivery of a continuous output at 40°C operating environment with a superb performance and reliability.
The modular series are composed of three set of wattages, 450W, 550W and 650W, they’re cooled with a 140mm ultra-quiet cooling fan integrated with an intelligent RPM control. The modular cables are low-profile and flat, making cable routing an easy task, as well as increasing the airflow. All three are 80 Plus Bronze certified to offer 88% if efficiency at 20 to 100% load under real world load conditions.
The non-modular however are found in four set of wattages, 430W, 530W, 630W and 730W, feature a double-forward switching circuitry and a universal AC input 100-240V that automatically scans and detect the correct voltage. The non-modular are cooled with the same ultra-silent fan connected to a fan speed control, except the size is reduced to 120mm. The non-modular are 80 Plus only, although they still provide 86% of efficiency at 20 to 100% load under real world load conditions.
All the seven of the power supply support the Nvidia and AMD graphic cards offering reliable and stable power supplies for the bargain and value for money hunters.
