Thermaltake SWAFAN EX12 RGB Magnetic Connection Fans Review

Thermaltake is one of the biggest names in the business, with a huge range of PSUs, cases, peripherals and much more. They’ve been aggressively pushing to be one of the most comprehensive cooling brands on the market too. Their air coolers, AIO coolers, custom loop hardware, and fans have been seeing steady upgrades and improvements, making them many of the most competitive on the market today. Of course, today, it’s all about their fans. The Thermaltake SWAFAN hit the market last year, and now they’re back with their fine-tuned and even better SWAFAN EX fans.

Thermaltake SWAFAN EX12

What makes these fans so special is that they have magnetic fittings. So you can snap on a magnetic cable to one fan and it lights up, then you can snap another fan on to that one, and then another, and they just instantly spring to life, making them weirdly plug-and-play, interchangeable and super easy to set up with minimal cables. Furthermore, they have a set of reverse blades included for each fan, allowing you to change the airflow direction while maintaining the aesthetics of a forward-facing fan!

Features

  • Thermaltake SWAFAN EX12 RGB PC Cooling Fan TT Premium Edition (3-Fan Pack) – SWAFAN EX incorporates a new magnetic force design for quick connection among fans with its 12V cable and at the same time keeping the swappable fan blade design. Daisy-chaining up to 3 fans per cable improves fan connection efficiency and convenience while enhancing cable management for PC building.
  • Quick Connect with Magnetic Force Design – The magnetic force design is used on the 12V cable core and the fans to achieve quick connection. Simply placing the cable to the fan or having the fans lying side by side, the magnet connectors will instantly draw the fan frames together while keeping them in place, thus powering and lighting up the fans by daisy-chaining them. This design keeps the assembly process simple while reducing installation time, making this fan more user-friendly and bringing extra fun while building your PC.
  • Say Goodbye to Most of Your Cables – Eliminate cable usage and stray away from crazy cable management by using this Magnetic Force Quick Connect Design fan. You only need to connect one cable to power up three fans at once, making PC building even faster and easier.
  • Swap the Fan Blades as You Like – by Simply Popping Out the Fan Blades and Pressing the Fan Blades Back In!
  • The Ultimate Cooling Performance of an RGB Fan – The design guarantees optimal cooling performance under different conditions, like installing fans on thick radiators or air coolers or even a chassis with multiple filters that are difficult to have air naturally pass through.
  • Cleaning Fans are now Easy and Fun! – If you want, you can even rinse the fan blades with water, just make sure you dry them thoroughly and apply bearing lubricant that is include in the package if needed.
  • Unlocks the Full Potential of RGB Lighting – No more sacrificing aesthetics for your airflow direction; SWAFAN EX can now do both!
  • Easily Show off Your RGB Lighting – Two independent LED rings with 20 LEDs allow you to create lighting patterns with the TT RGB Plus 2.0 Software.
  • TT RGB Plus 2.0 Can Do It All – To accommodate our new daisy-chain-designed SWAFAN EX, we’ve modified our TT RGB Plus software to control more LED lights than ever. Syncing up all TT RGB Plus products and show off your lighting show and even LCD screen effects with the latest TT RGB Plus 2.0 software.
