Using the stock settings, the TOUGHAIR 710 performed pretty well, hitting 88c on our very toasty i9-12900K, and that put it ahead of the be quiet! Dark Rock Pro 5, and the Cooler Master MA824 Stealth, which are some of the best air coolers on the market.
Overclocking did through it out of sorts a little, and while temperatures actually dropped 1c, it’s still a bit warmer than the Hyper 622 Halo Black, but considering Thermaltakes cooler is actually £5 cheaper than the Cooler Master one, I guess that is about right.
Acoustic performance was very good, running at just 42 dBA, making is not much louder than a light breeze, and those low RPM 140mm fans are really paying off here.
While overclocking, the dBa did drop, but as you saw, the temperatures were a little high, and frankly, if you wanted more performance I’d simply push the fans higher, as their default PWM curve is pretty easygoing. I saw a drop of around 4c when pushing the fans harder, and noise levels never went above 44dBa.
