Thermaltake Toughpower Grand RGB Sync Edition PSU Review

Over Power Protection and Max Wattage

Given that the Thermaltake Toughpower Grand Series RGB Sync Edition is an 850w power supply, it already has a fair bit of power behind it. Despite this, we always like to see how much further it can be pushed. Upon our OPP testing, this power supply was operating at 1109w before the protections came into effect.

Given that this is 259 watts over the rated value, this is quite impressive. We generally consider anything around 20% over the rating good. Considering that this got to 30% though, it’s a very good sign that if you ever do need to push this power supply a bit harder, you shall not find it wanting.
