Thermaltake Toughpower PF1 650w Platinum PSU Review

Over Power Protection and Max Wattage

While this specific power supply from the Thermaltake Toughpower PF1 range was rated to 650 watts, it’s never surprising to find that most PSUs can offer a little extra beyond that. When they are pushed beyond their rated limits, however, it’s important to know that the proper protections will kick in to ensure none of your components get damaged.

So, achieving 876 watts, we can confirm that not only did the OPP’s work perfectly, but this is certainly a pretty substantial amount of ‘wiggle’ room. Well, we’d consider 26% to be a pretty substantial amount at least!
