Thermaltake Toughram RGB 16GB 3600MHz DDR4 Review

A Closer Look

The Thermaltake Toughram RGB comes nicely packed. It does feature some mirror finish surfaces though, and it’s nice to see that Thermaltake has treated these with a protective film in transit.

The modules are honestly, some of the best-looking memory modules I’ve ever seen. That play of light between the black brushed aluminium and those thick polished metal strips is just stunning. Then to top them with a crisp white RGB lightbar along the top. Even without the lighting on, they look truly gorgeous.

I like the attention to detail here. Contrasting the black text on the white, and the white on the black. It’s an obvious choice, but the placement of branding can ruin a design if it’s done poorly; it’s done perfectly here.

The PCB is all-black, and the gold-plating on the modules is a little thicker than usual to ensure voltage stability. How much of that is true and not just marketing I don’t know, but I’m inclined to believe they’re very well made inside and out!

Shiny

The texture of the brushed aluminium is super tidy. All the brush strokes are running the length of the modules giving them a nice flow. However, there are these two chrome strips with angled tops. They look even better in person too. Here you can see my camera focus on the modules, but…

Here you can see the real reflection of the blackhole wallpaper I have on my PC screen when I refocus; very nice indeed but eyes don’t see as cameras do, so I needed two pictures.

Back to the branding, you’ll find two little TT logos up on the top. What’s cool is that the TT logo has that little tooth mark style to the top of the “T” and I’m sure I’ve seen that somewhere else today…

Ah, there it is, the Lightbars and the chrome spell out the TT logo!

Honestly, I think Thermaltake has outdone themselves on style here. Now, let’s find out if the performance stacks up to the aesthetics!
