Thermaltake Unveils Affordable Toughpower Grand RGB PSU Range

Thermaltake has launched a new series of rainbow-lit, affordable PSUs. The Toughpower Grand RGB range is available in 650W, 750W, and 850W models, all of which contain a Thermaltake Riing 14 140mm fans, modular cables, and 80 Plus Gold certification.

The Riing 14 fan is capable of emitting 256 different colours, either individually or as one of five pre-programmed lighting modes, controlled and saved by an in-built memory function. The top-mounted fan also runs quiet thanks to a hydraulic bearing which, according to Thermaltake, improves the internal case temperature by up to 3oC. Vibration is compensated for via injected rubber dampeners in each corner. The PSU also features a “Smart Zero Fan” function, which, when activated, stops the fan when the power load falls under 20%.

The company says:

“The Toughpower Grand RGB Gold Series delivers excellent cooling performance thanks to the concentrated compression fan blade design of Riing 14 RGB fan; with the hydraulic bearing, silent and stable operation is provided. This fully modular line-up also adopts Smart Zero Fan to minimize undesired noise, <30mV low ripple noise design and 100% Japanese made capacitors to ensure reliability. The voltage regulation of the PSU is set to no more than ±2% for major rails to demonstrate the best performance. When it comes to the cable, its low-profile flat cable provides easier cable management to reduce clutter and increase airflow inside the chassis. All in all, the Toughpower Grand RGB Gold Series guarantees aesthetic appeal and unbeatable yet mute operation for all kinds of cases.”

The Toughpower Grand RGB is out now, with the 650W. 750W, and 850W models priced around $90, $100, and $120, respectively.
