Thermaltake unveils new range of power supplies including a 1475W unit

Thermaltake unveiled a new range of Power supplies at computex 2011 today. Many of these will from part of the “smart” range. These will be a mixture of modular and non modular power supplies and most will be marketed with the continuous power level for naming purposes but with the ability to reach higher levels of peak power. There is a modular 550W power supply (peak 650W) and non-modular 630W (peak 700W) and 730W (peak 800W) models.

All of them are 80+ bronze certified and the 2 smaller models the 550 and 630 have 2 X 6pin cables for single GPU set ups and the 730W model has 4 X 6pin cables for a dual GPU set up. In addition to this they have short out , over voltage and surge protection backed by a 3 year warranty. Note all power is delivered on single rail 12V designs.

The 1475W “toughpower XT gold” is the top of the range new release from Thermaltake. Featuring 80+ gold certification, continuous 1475W power and a single rail 12V design. This is a modular power supply with only a 24pin and two 8 pin cables being fixed. The rest is totally up to you in terms of cable management. The power supply comes with a huge 7 year warranty which certainly shows Thermaltake’s confidence in the build quality.
