Thermaltake View 71 TG Full-Tower Chassis Review

Complete System

Building a system in the View 71 TG was laughably easy, there is a vast amount of space to work within here and hardware conflicts but certainly not an issue. The chassis will support up to an E-ATX motherboard, so our ATX motherboard obviously fits with zero issues. The installation process was sped up somewhat thanks to those large CPU cooler mounting cut out behind the motherboard, as well as the pre-installed motherboard standoffs.

The vertical GPU mount in one of my favourite features, as it gives a great way of presenting your graphics card through the tempered glass windows. A lot of effort goes into designing the coolers on graphics cards, but many times you do not see this as they are usually facing downwards inside your system. This does mean cables can hang down from the card, but a little care and a few cable ties will soon tidy that up for you.

There is plenty of room here for any of the largest air coolers on the market.

Radiators With Room to Spare

Those wishing to go down the water cooling route will certainly have little or nothing to worry about either. Huge radiators can be mounted on all sides, or even a large AIO cooler as I have.

There is no PSU shroud in the chassis and there is glass on both side, so cable routing is going to be no easy task. Those who wish to have a clean looking system will need to get to work with cable sleeving, cable ties, and patience, but the results will be worth the effort.

Cable Routing

Cable management around the rear is going to be pretty easy, but you’ll likely want to strap everything down in order to keep things looking tidy.

With the side panel back in place, the tinted wind does help hide some of the cables.

Shiny Glass

As I said, the tinting hides most of the black hardware of the chassis on the interior, but highlights such as the components of your motherboard, your graphics card, etc, are going to be pretty easy to see, which is a good thing, obviously.

The window tinting is great for showing off any LED lighting within the case. As you can see, the red LED lighting on a motherboard glows through beautifully. If you throw in a whole bunch of RGB components or even static colour components, they’re going to look fantastic.

The Riing fans aren’t particularly bright, but the colour they give off is actually pretty tasteful and gives a nice highlight to the front and rear of the chassis.

Shiny Lights

In a brighter room, the case will be quiet reflective, or you can come back this by having brighter lights within the chassis which will make the glass more transparent. In a darkened room, even dim lights will shine through really nicely and give the case a warm glow of light from all angles.
