Thermaltake XRW-G1 GT Steering Wheel and XRP-L1 Loadcell Pedal Set Revealed

Thermaltake is continuing its push into the sim racing market with the introduction of two significant additions to its hardware ecosystem: the XRW-G1 GT steering wheel and the XRP-L1 load cell pedal set. These new peripherals are designed to offer a professional-grade experience, as TT dive deeper and deeper into the world of competitive racing simulations.
Thermaltake XRW-G1 GT Steering Wheel
The XRW-G1 is a 300 mm GT-style rim that utilizes a mix of CNC-machined aluminium, carbon fibre, and reinforced polymers. This construction is intended to provide a rigid platform that can handle the high torque of modern direct-drive wheelbases without adding unnecessary weight.
The most prominent feature is the integrated 5-inch touchscreen display located at the centre of the wheel. This provides real-time telemetry, including RPM, flags, and race data. Surrounding the screen is an array of inputs, including backlit buttons, toggle switches, and multiple rotary and thumb encoders. For gear changes, Thermaltake has opted for magnetic carbon fibre paddle shifters to provide a mechanical, tactile snap.

Key Features
- Premium Construction: 300 mm GT-style wheel using CNC-machined aluminium and carbon fibre.
- Integrated Display: 5-inch touchscreen for real-time race data and RPM.
- Advanced Controls: Includes backlit buttons, front/rear toggle switches, three rotary encoders, two thumb encoders, and two “funky” switches.
- Tactile Shifting: Magnetic carbon fibre paddles for immediate gear change feedback.
- RGB Feedback: A customizable LED system for RPM and status alerts.
- Quick Release: Compatible with the steel ball quick-release system for tool-free wheel swaps.
Thermaltake XRP-L1 Loadcell Pedals
On the floor side of the setup, the XRP-L1 pedal set is built from a single block of CNC-machined aluminium. The brake pedal is the highlight here, featuring a 200 kg load cell. Unlike basic potentiometer pedals, a load cell measures the pressure applied rather than the distance the pedal travels, which more accurately mimics the braking system of a real racing car and helps with building muscle memory.
The throttle pedal uses a 16-bit Hall effect sensor, which provides a contactless and wear-free method of measuring input. It is mounted on self-lubricating nylon sleeves and ball bearings to ensure the travel remains smooth over long-term use. Both pedals offer significant adjustability, allowing users to swap out springs and rubber dampers to find their preferred resistance levels.

Key Features
- Load Cell Braking: 200 kg load cell for realistic, pressure-based braking feedback.
- High-Resolution Throttle: 16-bit Hall sensor for smooth and precise acceleration.
- Solid Construction: CNC-machined aluminium body for maximum rigidity under heavy braking.
- Customizable Resistance: Includes interchangeable springs and rubber dampers for tuning.
- Adjustable Ergonomics: Pedals can be adjusted in 5-degree increments to suit different seating positions.
- Italian Craftsmanship: Engineered and manufactured in Italy for high-end build quality.
“With the introduction of the XRW-G1 GT Steering Wheel and XRP-L1 Loadcell Pedal Set, Thermaltake continues to strengthen its Sim Racing System and deliver a unified, performance driven ecosystem built for serious competitors and passionate enthusiasts,” the company stated.
