Thrustmaster Announces New High End Flight Throttle

Are you one of those people who loves a comprehensive flight simulation setup? Then you’ll be happy to hear that the peripheral masters at Thrustmaster have created a brand new high-end flight throttle that comes packed full of features, making it an ideal addition to the 1.16000M HOTAS Joystick as well as the TFRP Rudder Pedals.

“With the launch of its S.M.A.R.T (Sliding Motion Advanced Rail Tracks) technology-powered throttle, TWCS (Thrustmaster Weapon Control System), Thrustmaster has given pilots the ideal tool to optimize their flights and come out on top in aerial dog fights! ” said Thrustmaster in a recent release. “The TWCS Throttle harnesses the power of the S.M.A.R.T technology, developed exclusively by Thrustmaster based on a unique system of slide rails. It offers a travel range of 3.2 inch/80 mm with perfectly smooth, high-precision speed control. The S.M.A.R.T mechanism’s resistance can also be adjusted to suit your preference.” they added.

With a durable and slim base, the new controller offers improved wrist movement and ergonomics and features a five axes throttle control. One 2-axis mini-stick, one toggle rudder with 15-degree angle with mechanical return to neutral, as well as a rotary button. Users can also connect the external TFRP Rudder Pedals (sold separately) via their RJ12 connector (for 16-bit throttle axis = 65635 values/all other axes = 1024 values each).

It’s not just a few simple sliders either, as it comes equipped with 14 action buttons: two 4-way buttons + 3 buttons + one 2-position slider + 1 push mini-stick. It is also equipped with one 8-Point of View hat switch.  The mini-stick can be used for elevation and strafing in space or for slew control. It can also be used for menu selection and validation. The presence of the rotary wheel allows users to easily validate settings or control radio antenna.

When it comes to playing games like Elite: Dangerous, or any flight game for that matter, it doesn’t sound like you’ll find a better controller on the market, perfect for sim setups, VR gaming and more.

The TWCS Throttle will be available in September 2016 at the suggested retail price of €79.99 (taxes included).
