Today we are taking a look at the T500 RS Racing Wheel & Pedals from Thrustmaster, a PC and Playstation 3 compatible racing simulation wheel targeted at the racing enthusiast gamer, plus the very special Ferrari F1 wheel attachment optional upgrade for those that prefer a full F1 setup over the standard GT wheel, or of course for those who want the best of both worlds.
Thrustmaster have been around since 1999 and have a rich history of gaming peripherals for consoles and PCs, catering for everything from budget friendly accessories to flag ship models like the ones we’re taking a look at today.
Taken from the Thrustmaster website – “To increase the levels of realism and immersion to legendary gaming worlds, Thrustmaster has always put an emphasis developing products and accessories which benefit from prestigious licenses.” a statement that shines out very true in there recent ranges of peripherals that sport the Ferrari name, while the GT wheel does not follow the Ferrari brand, it is endorsed by Gran Turismo (PS3), while the F1 attachment is a Ferrari F1 replica.
This being a premium product, or in fact two premium products, they both come with a premium price tag too, with the GT wheel and pedals costing £350 – £400 and the F1 attachment costing anywhere between £100 – £150 this setup is going to have to go a long way in terms of performance and quality to justify its price tag.
Come and take a look and the next few pages, where we will break down just what the T500 has to offer, before putting it to the test in some of the most popular racing titles.
