ThunderX3 TX3 Solo 360 Gaming Chair Review

ThunderX3 has flown under a lot of peoples radar in recent years, but they’re a fantastic gaming chair brand that often bring the affordable prices we see from the seemingly random chair brands you’ve never heard of, but with the quality and features of more high-end models. There’s a reason why they’re resident at OCUK, one of the largest tech retailers in the UK. And now, ThunderX3 has expanded its seating lineup with the TX3 Solo 360, a hybrid gaming chair designed to offer a balance between high-end ergonomic features and still delivering accessible pricing.

The ThunderX3 TX3 Solo 360 model is aimed at PC enthusiasts and gamers who require a supportive seat for long sessions but may not want the aggressive aesthetic of the deeper bucket-style gaming chairs or the fully office aesthetic of well, office chairs. By integrating advanced adjustment mechanisms usually found in more expensive office chairs, ThunderX3 say this chair should be well suited to various body types and sitting postures.

ThunderX3 TX3 Solo 360 Gaming Chair

The TX3 Solo 360 stands out due to its emphasis on dynamic support, highlighted by the inclusion of the SYNC4 multi-functional mechanism. This system enables a synchronous tilt function where the backrest and seat base move in tandem at an optimal ratio, ensuring the body remains supported even when reclining. Another unique selling point is the innovative 3D x 360-degree armrests, which can be rotated fully or adjusted laterally to provide specific forearm support for typing or controller use; sitting there and spinning them around when bored is likely also an unintended bonus. The chair also features a built-in headrest that moves vertically to align with the user’s neck, much like you would find in a car, taking the ergonomics to yet another level.

Key Features

  • SYNC4 multi-functional mechanism for advanced 4-way adjustability
  • Synchronous tilt allowing the backrest and seat to move together for better ergonomics
  • 3D x 360-degree multifunctional armrests with full rotation and lateral adjustment
  • Retractable armrest design to allow the chair to sit closer to desks
  • Ergonomically curved lumbar support integrated into the backrest
  • Height-adjustable headrest inspired by automotive seat designs
  • High-density moulded foam padding for long-term shape retention
  • Integrated seatback pocket for convenient storage of small accessories

The technical specifications of the TX3 Solo 360 are certainly impressive, featuring a reinforced steel frame and a Class 4 hydraulic gas lift (I’ve never seen another class of lift, but ya know, it’s good to see some consistency in the market). These components allow the chair to support a maximum weight of 150kg, surpassing many standard office seating options, but they do recommend it for up to 125KG likely for the longevity of the materials. The materials used vary across different models, including breathable AeroSuede, mesh, and premium leatherette, all paired with a sturdy 350mm steel base for added stability. The inclusion of 65mm nylon casters ensures smooth movement across various floor types, while the wide range of height and recline adjustments makes it suitable for users between 155cm and 195cm tall. So really, it’s ticking all the right boxes right out of the box, so let’s dive in for a closer look!
