Tinder Co-Founder Returns With New Dating App

Tinder’s former Vice President of Marketing, Whitney Wolfe, was forced from the company she co-founded after filing a sexual harassment lawsuit against her colleagues earlier this year. Tinder recently settled out of court to the tune of $1 million. Now Wolfe is back with her own rival dating app, Bumble, created with the help of two former Tinder staff, Chris Gulczynski and Sarah Mick.

In a cheeky jibe at Wolfe’s former company, Bumble describes itself as not full of “creepy guys and cheesy pick up lines,” and aims to promote a “safe and respectful community”. The app creates matches for its users through more “relevant signals than other, more shallow apps.”

Though there is no concrete release date for Bumble, it is expected to arrive soon.
