At the time of this review, the drive hasn’t fully made it to the market yet. As such, I can’t give you a retail price nor link to a listing of it. That should, however, change soon.
Wow, what a drive. Toshiba’s MG07 doesn’t just deliver impressive performance figures, it also has the capacity to match. With 14TB capacity in a standard 3.5-inch form factor and SATA3 interface, you gain completely new possibilities in your enterprise setup. A 40% increase in capacity and 50% lower power usage per GB are figures that speak for themselves. That’s when we compare it to the predecessor.
In fact, the drive comes incredibly close to the performance of a 15K RPM SAS drive that we tested not long ago. Now that’s something I didn’t fully expect, but loved to see. At the same time, we get completely different capacity options and a standard interface. That’s a seriously impressive achievement from Toshiba.
Whether you need 512kb or 4K drives, with or without SIE, there is a drive option available. Besides the 14TB version that I tested today, there’s also a smaller 12TB version available. But why settle when you can get this impressive drive?
“Toshiba created a seriously impressive drive with the MG07. The 14TB capacity and great performance figures speak for themselves; and all in a standard 3.5″ SATA3 drive.”
