The real strength of SSHD’s are their improved boot and loading time and BootRacer is a great application to measure this. It will simply put just measure how long it takes to boot Windows.
These figures will variate depending on what is installed, what operating system you’re running, and how much you’re loading on startup. To get an accurate comparison, I’ve cloned the same drive image to three drives, an SSD, an HDD, and this Toshiba MQ02 SSHD. The HDD I use for comparison is the WD RED 2.5″ 1TB and the SSD is the Kingston HyperX 240GB.
