The Canvio Flex is one of the most interesting and convenient portable storage devices on the market today. And again, I admit that it’s often difficult to be excited about storage devices, but storage is so important to all modern technology, you would be a fool to not take it more seriously.
For starters, it’s very portable, and using the 2.5″ form factor and weighing just 150g (210g for the 4TB version), this smart-looking external drive is slim enough to fit in your pocket, so it’ll certainly drop into your backpack or luggage easily enough too. It’s also powered by a single USB cable, and comes with a USB-C cable too, making it broadly compatible with a lot of devices, and it doesn’t require an external power source, making it very easy to set up and use.
The real strength of the Toshiba Canvio Flex is how versatile it really is, as it’s ready to work on Mac, Windows PCs, tablets and mobile devices, consoles and more right out of the box. This means you can back up or carry data for your iPad, Android devices, laptop and more. With transfer rates of up to 5 Gbit/s it’s more than capable of being able to play back your high-resolution media on the go. There’s the Canvio Flex, Canvio Gaming, Canvio Slim, and Canvio Basics, which are all great, but for me, the portability and wider device support make the Flex the best one for travelling.
