TRENDnet announced its new Ultra PoE product category along with the launch of a new high-power industrial-grade Gigabit PoE switch. The new switch is called the TI-UPG62 and it is a 6-Port hardened industrial Gigabit Ultra PoE DIN-Rail switch with high-power capacity.
Thanks to the high-power capacity of the TI-UPG62, even the most demanding networking and surveillance usages will find their needs covered with a total power budget of 240 watts. The switch features four Ultra PoE ports as well as two dedicated SFP slots for long distance fiber optics networking.
“At 60 watts of power, the new Ultra PoE category delivers double the power of the current IEEE 802.3at standard, and it is a better fit to support the higher power requirements of today’s devices,” said Evan Davis, senior manager of solutions engineering at TRENDnet. “With a much higher power capacity, TRENDnet’s Ultra PoE line helps to provide an uninterrupted service, especially when running critical network applications.”
TRENDnet’s industrial networking solutions line is designed for use in extreme environments with high degrees of varying temperature, as well as in areas with large amounts of dust and debris. Neither should have any effect on the performance and availability of the TI-UPG62 switch as it is equipped with a rugged IP30 rated metal housing. The new switch also features dual redundant power inputs with overload and current protection as well as an alarm output triggered by a power failure.
Later this year, TRENDnet will also introduce a Gigabit Ultra PoE+ Injector to add to its new and growing product line. The TI-UPG62 Ultra PoE switch is available now or shortly for an MSRP of $399.99.
