Tritton Kunai PS3 & PSVita Gaming Headset Review

There are plenty of options for headsets within the £30-50 price range, you really are spoilt for choice at the moment. That choice starts to dwindle when you start ticking off features such as build quality, sound quality, style, functionality and maybe a few bonus features such as cross platform usage, removable microphone etc. This is really where the Kunai beings to shine, as Tritton once again have delivered a top quality headset with a very modest price.

The overall build quality of Tritton headsets is unrivaled at the moment, the use of highly durable plastics means your headset should survive a few knocks and bumps. But where many brands have a cheap plastic feel or texture to them, Tritton headsets (including the Kunai) have a perfect high gloss finish which looks and feels fantastic. Definitely a trademark of a premium quality product.

In terms of style the Kunai really stand out. I think they look great finished in gloss white and they follow the now familiar angular style touches of the rest of the Tritton range. They’re also quite compact and lightweight, which makes them perfect to chuck in your bag when you’re on the go, very handy if you do plan on using this with a device like the PS Vita, as it’s not really practical to carry something like the Warhead 7.1 headset around in your bag all day.

I wasn’t expecting this headset to be so flexible either, providing use on both Playstation 3 and the VITA really are just the starting point here. While that may be how they are marketed, they do also double as some really slick performing headphones for MP3 players, or an affordable PC gaming headset. All of this really adds to the value for money of the Kunai, which is exactly why I am happy to award this headset our Editors Choice Award. Sure they’re worthy of both the Gamers Choice Award and the Bang for Buck award, but I have yet to see a better headset for Playstation 3 within this price range.
