Trump Family Launches Mobile Carrier and New Smartphone
Beyond imposing tariffs on most countries around the world, and later putting them on hold, the Trump family name is making headlines for other reasons. The family company has announced the launch of a new mobile carrier, Trump Mobile. Currently, it offers a single monthly plan called The 47 Plan priced at $47.45.
This plan, which can be used with any phone available on the market, aims to match the coverage of the leading carriers in the United States. In fact, it will work with the three major companies to offer 5G nationwide.
According to the company, the service includes unlimited calls, text messages, and data. Additionally, the plan offers extra services such as roadside assistance provided by Drive America and access to a telemedicine platform available 24/7. Trump Mobile emphasizes that its customer service center will be based in the United States.
As mentioned by The Verge, the terms of use published on Trump Mobile’s website specify that the network is “powered by Liberty Mobile”, a Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO) that uses T-Mobile’s infrastructure. Thus, its service would operate similarly to other MVNOs that also run on the same network. However, the most surprising part is not that the Trump family now has a mobile carrier.
Trump Mobile Launches the First Smartphone: The T1 Phone

Along with the network service, the T1 Phone has been unveiled, a golden-finish device priced at $499. The company highlights that the phone is designed and built in the United States. The device can now be pre-ordered with a $100 deposit, and its release is expected between August and September of 2025.
The T1 Phone will feature a 6.78-inch OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, 12GB of RAM, and 256GB of expandable storage. The operating system will be Android 15, and it will include a 5,000mAh battery, as well as a 3.5mm headphone jack. The rear camera setup includes a 50MP main sensor, along with two 2MP sensors for macro and depth functions.
You can check the full specifications on their official website, although it doesn’t mention the processor or what technology the fingerprint sensor uses. These inconsistencies raise doubts about whether this is truly a device that can be sold for $499, the announced official price.
In fact, the inclusion of a 3.5mm headphone jack, a feature that has been discontinued on most current devices, a USB-C 2.0 port, and a macro lens suggest that this is likely a budget phone, probably made in China. Despite this, Trump’s company claims on its website that the device is a sleek, gold smartphone engineered for performance and proudly designed and built in the United States for customers who expect the best from their mobile operator.
