Final Thoughts

How Much Does it Cost?

The Turtle Beach Stealth 300 Amplified Headset is available for PlayStation 4/PlayStation 4 Pro, as well as Xbox One. Again, I think the only difference is the colour, one’s black/blue, the other is black/green. However, since they’re 4-pole 3.5mm jacks, they work on just about anything, including PC if you have a Y-splitter cable for the microphone. Each model is priced at a very reasonable £69.99 in the UK and $79.95 in the US.

Overview

Audiophile grade music headphones these are not, but honestly, I just don’t care. I’m a bit of an audio purist myself, but at the end of the day, if it sounds great and puts a smile on my face, that’s what matters. The sound on the Stealth 300 is massive and drives a much cleaner and bigger sound than anything else in this price range.

Build Quality

Turtle Beach has stuck to the same, or very similar design, for a fair few years now. Little improvements to the internal structure make this one of the most robust headsets in their range so far. The metal reinforcement and the durable plastic shell keep it strong, yet surprisingly lightweight. My only issue is that hard-wired cable. It’s not a deal breaker, but being able to replace the cable yourself can save you an RMA further down the line. That being said, it’s a pretty robust cable anyway.

Features

For this price range, it’s very competitive. The built-in amp is there simply to drive big sound and is a feature often reserved for USB audio headsets. Being able to use that amp from the long-life internal battery is great. It means I can enjoy that same powerful amplified sound on a mobile device, console, or anything with a 3.5mm jack. The built-in EQ is fantastic, customisable and easy to use, and also works on any device you connect to. The addition of comfortable padding, good noise dampening, microphone monitoring, a flip-up mic, all just sweetens the deal.

Should I Buy One?

At this price range, it’s easily one of the most bang for buck headsets on the market. It’s powerful, it’s versatile, it’s well made. You can’t ask for much more than that. If you want huge bass, control over your EQ profiles, and a audio that puts a big grin on your face, this is it.
